Описание

Vorwata  field

Vorwata is the largest field within the Tangguh Joint Venture area. This field was discovered in 1997 and is currently producing under the initial development phase. Vorwata field consists of 14 initial development wells that produce through two platforms. Two 24-inch diameter and 22 kilometer production pipelines are connected from the platforms to an onshore LNG plant facility. Development drilling commenced in May 2007 and was completed in March 2009 with 14 successful producers and one well abandoned due to drilling limitations as a result of complex geology. Start of Production for Tangguh occurred in July 2008, with the LNG processing initiated in June 2009. Cumulative production through March 2011 is 530 bscf of gas (wellhead stream) with an average rate of 1 bscf/d. Currently, about 1.3 bscf/d is produced from the 14 producers.

The Vorwata structure is 28 km long by 21 km wide. Production is from the Middle Jurassic Sandstone. It was deposited within sand-rich tidal deltaic systems and tidal shoreface complexes developed within an enclosed inner shelf setting. In the southern area, average reservoir thickness is about 480 ft. The reservoir thins to the north with the average thickness reduced to 80 ft. The reservoir is a clean sandstone with an average net to gross of about 90%. Permeability is in the range of 80 – 400 md, average gas saturation 78% and average porosity 14%. The Vorwata gas contains 12% CO2 and has a condensate yield of only 4 stb/mmscf.

Tangguh Joint Venture is operated by BP Indonesia, with a 37.16 per cent interest, as a contractor to the Indonesian oil and gas regulator, BPMIGAS. Other partners in the project are MI Berau B.V. (16.3 per cent), CNOOC Ltd. (13.9 per cent), Nippon Oil Exploration (Berau) Ltd. (12.23 per cent), KG Berau/KG Wiriagar (10 per cent), LNG Japan Corporation (7.35 per cent) and Talisman Energy (3.06 per cent).
